Getting Around During the Holidays

Please note there will be changes to public transport across London over the festive period:

Christmas Day (25 December): No Tube, train, or bus services.

Boxing Day (26 December): Limited Tube and bus services.

New Year’s Eve (31 December): Extra late-night services, but they can be very busy.

We strongly recommend pre-booking taxis or private transport, especially if you're travelling on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, or New Year’s Eve.
Our reception and reservations teams are always happy to assist with arrangements in advance.

Dining Out – Book Early!


Christmas Day in the Great Hall: Join us for a truly magical Christmas Day lunch in the Great Hall, served from 12 noon to 2pm on 25th December. It’s one of our most-loved festive traditions and tends to sell out fast, so be sure to book early. £30 for adults and £15 for children. Take a peek at the menu below!


Christmas Day & Boxing Day: Many restaurants close, though a few special spots remain open with set festive menus. We’ll gladly share an up-to-date list.

New Year’s Eve: From rooftop bars to elegant restaurants, many venues host special celebrations and set menus — these often book out weeks in advance.

Hanukkah Dining: We can recommend restaurants offering kosher-style or festive-friendly menus.

Halal Options: Bloomsbury is home to several excellent halal restaurants, offering Middle Eastern, South Asian, and modern British cuisine.
