Planning Your Festive Stay in Bloomsbury – Christmas & New Year 2025

Pre-Season’s Greetings from all of us here in beautiful Bloomsbury!

As the festive season approaches, we're delighted you’re considering spending this magical time with us. Whether you’re celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, New Year, or simply enjoying a winter getaway, we’re here to help make your stay as joyful and seamless as possible.

Getting Around During the Holidays

Please note there will be changes to public transport across London over the festive period:

Christmas Day (25 December): No Tube, train, or bus services.

Boxing Day (26 December): Limited Tube and bus services.

New Year’s Eve (31 December): Extra late-night services, but they can be very busy.

We strongly recommend pre-booking taxis or private transport, especially if you're travelling on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, or New Year’s Eve. Our reception and concierge teams are happy to help arrange transport in advance.

Dining Over the Holidays - Book Early!

Whether you’re planning a festive feast, a quiet meal out, or a special celebration, Bloomsbury and the surrounding areas have a wide range of excellent dining options, but do book early, as reservations fill up fast!

Christmas Day & Boxing Day: Many restaurants close, but a handful of lovely spots remain open and offer special holiday menus. We’re happy to share an up-to-date list.

New Year’s Eve: Restaurants, rooftop bars, and venues often host special events or set menus — these can book out weeks in advance.

Hanukkah Dining: If you’re marking Hanukkah, we can help you find restaurants offering kosher-style or festive-friendly menus nearby.

Halal Options: There are several excellent halal restaurants in and around Bloomsbury, offering everything from Middle Eastern and South Asian cuisines to modern British fare. Let us know your preferences, and we’ll be happy to guide you.

Whether you’re looking for festive British cuisine, international flavours, vegetarian menus or something special to suit your traditions, we’ll do our best to help you find the perfect spot.

New Year’s Eve Celebrations in London

London comes alive on New Year’s Eve! If you're planning to join the festivities, here are a few ideas:

Thames Fireworks: a spectacular display, ticketed and best booked well in advance.

Rooftop Parties & Gala Dinners: from stylish bars to historic venues, there are lots of exciting ways to ring in 2026.

West End Shows & Live Music: perfect for a memorable evening before the countdown.

Again, availability is limited, so we recommend pre-booking tickets, tables, and taxis as soon as you can. We’re more than happy to assist with suggestions and reservations.
