The Goodenough Hotel refurb
The Hotel’s 65 bedrooms have recently undergone an incredible transformation. Great care and attention was taken throughout the refurbishment process to maintain the building’s historic charm and to add modern features. Each room was styled and designed with a strong onus on the historical Georgian colours. In the Georgian period, choosing a colour for your home was often a matter of price. Colours made from pigments that were easy to obtain were used to make relatively inexpensive ‘common colours’. These included stone, earthy yellows, lead grey and white. However, a more colourful palette needed more expensive pigments. No expense was spared in completing The Goodenough Hotel refurbishment and the bold and striking colour palette is a true reflection of this.
