New Year Reflections
As 2026 dawns, it’s a good moment to reflect on the choices we’ve made at The Goodenough Hotel, choices guided by a simple principle: spend money where it does good.
Running a hotel as a non-profit commercial organisation comes with unique challenges. Every investment has to balance operational needs, guest experience, and our wider mission. Being open about our non-profit status can feel like a double-edged sword: some may wonder if it means less investment in the hotel. In truth, it’s quite the opposite.
Thanks to a forward-thinking board and executive team, 2026 will see significant investment in heritage protection and guest experience upgrades. From preserving the architectural character that makes The Goodenough unique, to enhancing comfort and convenience for our guests, every decision has been made with long-term impact in mind.
Our non-profit status isn’t a limitation, it’s a commitment to purpose-driven hospitality. Profits from the hotel are reinvested not only into the property but also into Goodenough College and its charitable objectives. When you stay with us, you are supporting the College’s work in enhancing international understanding and aiding talented students with limited means.
Looking ahead to 2026, we remain focused on thoughtful investment, creative solutions, and delivering a hotel experience that is as remarkable as it is responsible. At The Goodenough, doing good and doing well go hand in hand.
